How do I interpret thee??
If premonition of a Storm
Or epitome of Glee
Can I ever read you??
Thou who can be a learned's Tranqulity
Who is even an amateur's Frivolity
As many times as many visages
You get Hostile and at times Fragile
A mystery so Profound so Unfathomable
Tool of Expression
Result of Oppression
Resorting to thee is an irresistible temptation
Your strength to convey more than words
Is like a stuffed vacuum
So empty yet so complete
Just like your sound
Which is too deafening to be audible !!!

Silence and its different manifestations, even as I go thru ur post, various scenes come to my mind -
1> Will Smith in 'Pursuit of Happyness' when in the climax he is offered the job and he comes out into the street, Ecstatic but silent
2> The scene in 'Sholay', made memorable by the dialogue "Itna sannata kyun hai bhai"
3> 'Pearl Harbour' movie, the silence just before the bombing
4> The scene in Sarkar Raj, where Aish and Abhishek are together on the terrace, just before Abhishek is executed.
And many more. I mention all this here not to show off that i am a movie buff, but to illustrate the impact that your post has had on me.
Brilliant and keep it up.
Sometimes I just wonder the child-like innocence of the poet.....yes, only a child doesn’t know any constraints and so does a poet. Only a child can demand a star and only a poet can think of expressing SILENCE through WORDS. So logic says that you should fail in your attempt miserably....but the same logical power recognizes the strength of this poem. So, where is disconnect?? Disconnect is the reader himself who is trying to taste the beauty of art with logic.
The territory of silence is as vast as the entire universe. But sometimes I think whether the state which we perceive as silence is the actual silence....is silence just absence of words or it’s the absence of any kind of language...the language of eyes...the language of heartbeats...the language of random thoughts occupying the mind space....the language of spiritual energy that flows across the whole universe and interestingly we even talk about the language of silence. I totally agree that the language of silence is far more powerful and accurate than any other language because words are too weak to express the true feelings of human heart and words can always be pretentious. The language of silence is so powerful because this is spoken by one heart and interpreted by another heart..without any intervention from brain.
You have written this poem after a gap of more than 2 months...but I’m not complaining because I admire the fact that at least FORTHRIGHT doesn’t bind herself in the constraints of time and space.
